This is the look of the land where I live nowadays. Those crooked trees are cottonwoods — the characteristic trees of Colorado and Nebraska river valleys.

Photo taken through NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope and made publicly available by NASA, ESA, and Martino Romaniello (European Southern Observatory, Germany).

This is the only star-spangled banner I ever hope to fly here — and I flew it here on Twelfth Night, in honor of the original Star.
